BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Pope Francis plans to visit Argentina at the end of his five-day visit to Mexico and the United States to visit the Cardenas, who have been in their home country of Argentina more than a decade.

But the pope is also taking a more personal interest in Ana Cardenas. He plans to visit her father, who is ill in a hospital.

Cardenas is suffering from a rare hereditary disease that has caused his hands to turn blue and his face to turn yellow.

“He’s very anxious,” said his daughter, Ana Cardenas.
