Disney California Adventure to bring back festivals, Soarin’ Over California ride in 2023
We’re excited to confirm that Disneyland’s ‘Soarin’ Over California’ will be rolling into the park, bringing back some of the best-known attractions and features of California Adventure to bring the park to life once again.
In a new blog post Disney Parks Blog, Disney Parks senior vice president, Walt Disney Imagineering, Peter Harrington, wrote that the ride will be “completely reimagined” on both the Disney Parks side of the property and the Disney Hollywood Studios side. The blog also confirmed that the Soarin’ Over California will come to both Anaheim and Chicago in 2023. The blog also confirmed some of the details of the upcoming attractions that are being unveiled now.
A lot of the familiar elements from California Adventure will be reimagined, including the queue, dining, Fastpass, and attractions. However, it will be a completely different ride experience with some of the existing features, like the queue, dining, and Fastpass being completely reworked, as well as a new ride experience that will introduce some of the iconic moments from the attraction such as the opening of Mickey’s Philharmagic, the parade, ride vehicles, the Big Red Machine, and the opening of Sleeping Beauty Castle.
In a release, the blog said, “The new Soarin’ Over California will bring you on a journey across the globe, from the New York Times Tower to the Golden Gate Bridge and beyond, through the awe inspiring majesty of the Big Red Machine to meet Mickey and Minnie in the World of Disney at Disneyland.
“The Soarin’ Over California will be a new, completely reimagined, experience that is so much more than your typical Disney attraction. We had so much fun with the original Soarin’ Over California and the magic of it has been a staple of family vacations at Disneyland for decades. The Soarin’ Over California will take Soarin’ over the California Adventure park, so guests can truly experience the attraction, and hopefully experience Disney Parks for the very first time.”
