Who is Anderson Lee Aldrich, suspect in mass shooting at Colorado gay nightclub?
Anderson Lee Aldrich was convicted on seven counts in 1995 of molesting and raping girls aged 12 years old and 13 years old.
Aldrich was also found guilty in 1996 for abusing a boy aged 14 who was visiting his home in California.
He was arrested in 2010 after being accused of molesting a girl who visited his apartment on Long Island in New York.
He was convicted of sexually abusing two victims in the Los Angeles area between 1997 and 2001.
Aldrich has maintained he is mentally ill, has never been convicted of a sexual crime and never abused anyone, except the boy who was visiting his apartment
The 58-year-old is currently being held without bail and faces life in prison without parole on 13 charges of first-degree kidnapping, and 13 charges of molestation or assault in the commission of sexual abuse of a child in the commission of a sexual act. He is also being held on seven charges of first-degree kidnapping and seven counts of molestation or assault in the commission of sexual abuse of a child in the commission of a sexual act.
He is facing 14 counts of first-degree kidnapping and 14 counts of molestation or assault in the commission of sexual abuse of a child in the commission of a sexual act.
Prosecutors said the victims came to the home in a car which was being used by Aldrich to pick up a dog and his daughter, where he was also in charge of care of two children.
Prosecutors said the children were kept in a room where they were assaulted and raped by Aldrich, while the woman was tied up in another room.
She escaped but got separated from her daughter, and she was raped by her former neighbors when she returned.
The woman told police she was bound for her own protection while she ran down the road and found help from people who had seen the girl, according to CBS Miami.
The case was investigated by the Miami-Dade County Police department.
